DSP (Direct Support Professional):
Special Recreation Services, Inc. a 501 (c) (3) non-profit company is currently taking applications for a DSP position in Carbon and Monroe Counties working 1:1 taking adults with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism into the community for recreation, socialization and habilitation such as exercising, hiking, shopping, movies, volunteering and much more.
Must be 18 or over with HS diploma or GED.
Applicant needs to have a reliable vehicle and feel comfortable transporting client in their own vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate of 67 cents per mile and there is no daily limit).
Applicant must have a valid PA drivers license, PA insurance, PA registration and current PA inspection and be able to pass a drug test.
Applicant must pay for and provide to us a criminal background check, and a PA child abuse check. After 3 months of continuous employment, applicant will be reimbursed when receipts are provided.
Applicant must be compassionate, kind, patient and flexible. Hours would be working weekdays (times are typically anywhere between 9 am - 5 pm or a variation) plus some weekends when necessary. Depending on experience, hourly rate is $15-$18. Must be able to fulfill 24 hours of paid online orientation. Applicant must have access to a desktop computer or laptop plus access to the internet or wifi to complete onboarding and trainings.

Human Resources Specialist:
This position is PART TIME to start but could lead to Full Time. We are a very small Non-Profit organization currently with 13 employees. Depending on experience, hourly rate is $19 to $20 to start.
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting various HR functions and ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and coordinating interviews
- Maintain employee records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date
- Coordinate training and development initiatives for employees
- Support performance management processes
- Assist with workforce management activities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure HR policies and procedures are followed
- Handle employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures
- Assist in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives
- Support contract management processes
-Must be knowledgeable with the PA unemployment process and working with SWIF Workers Compensation.
Applicant will be cross trained to work with our intellectually disabled/Autistic individuals so they can fill in when needed and must be able to fulfill 24 hours of online training at home with in a weeks time frame. Trainings need to be done on a desktop computer or a laptop.
